What does the code say about mixing receptacle and lighting circuits in corridors in small hotels less than four stories high?

it was also found that emergency egress lighting was connected to these circuits. Is this a violation?
 
It depends. If the circuit in question is an emergency circuit, then see Article 700, Part IV.

No problem There is no intent to use any forum comments for such legal purposes.

I do not have my code book with me and I'm trying to remember the answers to these questions. Unfortunately, without much success.
