Kitchen remodel, 2 story house. GC removed the old fur down framing built above the cabinets. Most of the wiring can be reinstalled, some will just have the top plate and install nail plates. However, two runs are boogers.

Seems to me, that I saw some sort of UL splice kit that approved for installing concealed into a wall. Am I imagining this, or has anyone else seen these? If such a critter exists, it would make life MUCH better.

I searched under - my favorites. I saved the link to my favorites a while ago.

I have about 3500 links saved in about 200 different folders...which I backup about every two weeks. it saves me a ton of time

do you have a search engine for your bookmarks?

Um..? I'm not working a Manufactured Building, Mobile home, or RV. Think these could be used in a house?

334.40 Boxes and Fittings.
(B) Devices of Insulating Material.
Switch, outlet, and tap devices of insulating material shall be permitted to be used without boxes in exposed cable wiring and for rewiring in existing buildings where the cable is concealed and fished.

This permits the usage of these devices in dwellings.

The gray matter between my ears.

I also have the same folders in several of my computers with PDFs and other documents and such saved. Because of the redundancy, I am quite familar with the location of a lot of the folders. Once in a while I may have to search through a few additional folders, trying to remember where my stuff is.

The folders for my pictures also mirror these other folders. The only problem with the pictures of late is that there are so many, I may have to add some additional folders. The only reason I have not done so, is it will require my attention for several days. (I am just shy of 70,000 saved pictures)

I have 3 computers (a new very fast computer that can handle 4 screens), 5 screens (3 of them are 24") and I can get a lot done with them at one time.

When I first started with computers, I remember having to wait for the screen to refresh every time I changed a page. I thought it was pretty cool back then.

Today I have zero patience for screens to come up. Waiting is not my strength. Hence all the computers and different screens. I work on one item while waiting for another, especially those large downloads.

Can you bring them to the meet and greet??

It seems to me if the splices were permitted to be used in normal stapled ( not fished ) concealed wiring. , the sentence should read:

Switch, outlet, and tap devices of insulating material shall be permitted to be used without boxes in exposed cable wiring, and for rewiring existing buildings where the cable is concealed.

Fished cable is concealed... otherwise why fish it?

I think the and makes it sound as if it is not permitted to be used when concealed UNLESS it is fished..

I don't believe these could be used in concealed locations. This is just a faster way to splice exposed wiring without a junction box. A splice is a splice, and concealed splices are not allowed.
