After installing a 480 volt feeder from a 30 amp fusible disconnect located in an MCC to a 30 amp 3 phase fusible disconnect. I would like to install a junction box with 600 volt terminals on the load side of the field fuse disconnect. And route two cables to 2 Size 1 manual starters for a couple of air handlers with FLA of about 8 amps each.
How do I size the conductors from the J.B. to the manual starters.

Re: Conductor Size

I would say 125% OF FLA which is 8 amps for each
branch circuit conductors if they are seperate and you are not going to run a feeder. If so 125% of highest rated motor plus the sum of other motors on same phase also what are terminals rated for 60 or 75 C

Re: Conductor Size

Wouldn't this application constitute a "continuous load", therefore requiring a 150% demand factor?
