i have a customer doing a small remodel. there is an existing(abandoned) 30A breaker going to the garage.(maybe used for some sort of equipment?)
customer wants to change the breaker to 20A , leave the existing #10 from the service to the garage , use a juction box (blank cover) at the termination of the #10 , and wirenut #12 to run a couple 20A recepticles (in garage) , no other outlets will be served.
is this permissable under the 05 ? i'm not seeing anything that prohibits this, what do you think?
thanks!

Sounds like a good idea to re-use the old circuit conductors. There is no code issue with the #10 on a 20 amp CB. Is the garage attached?

yes, attached garage.
i thought it should work , just wasn't sure if there was a violation. after looking in the code, i couldn't find one (the hardest thing to find in any code is the ONE THAT'S NOT THERE!)
thanks!
