Conductor Type ?

Would someone advise me as to what type of conductors these are? They are in the crawlspace of a home built in the 50s. They are going to a pole light in the front yard. At the pole light they are coming out of the ground in either EMT or RMC. Could they be direct burial conductors or conductors that were designed to be in conduit? It looks a lot like coax cable without the shielding.

Looks like single direct burial conductors. I saw them once on a job from 50 years ago.

That's good to know because now I can make an underground splice with UF cable and move it a couple of feet. Thanks...

It would have helped if the X section were in focus rather than the rocks in the background, but I agree that it looks like direct burial wire.
