Question: Is it allowed to enter a panelboard with a conduit containing conductors from another panelboard just for the purpose of passing thru so long as the conductors are tagged as to their origin, are under 600 volts and do not occupy more than 40% of the available space they are contained within as they pass thru?

300.3(C) seems to get close to this... but not definitively enough for me....:-?

look at 408.3(3) exception

That appears to apply only to switchboards, not panelboards....true or false? Am I splitting hairs on this one?

edited to ask if I'm splitting hairs.

Your answer lies in 312.8. :D

If the answer is in 312.8, then the answer is yes, I can based on the 40% or less of wiring space being occupied. So the text in 408.3 would not apply to a panelboard. Correct?

(thanks for your patience.)

i dont think its acceptable for panelboards.........and for switchboards you need to be UL listed as wireways........

Correct, on both counts.

How do you think 312.8 impacts this statement?
