conductors in subpanel?

can conductors from a subpanel be run through a different subpanel? the second sub is being used as a kind of gutter , i guess.
i really think it was just easier to install that way. the conductors are in emt from the first sub, enter the second (out of emt , through the second sub) and leave the second into emt again...05 nec

thanks, it seems as though it will work, as there is space as require by 312.8
