Installed a generator. The wires from the generator to the transfer switch have 120/240 volt circuit to monitor power, plus two 12 volt DC wires that give generator a start command. Can these conductors be installed in the same conduit if they all have 600 volt insulation. Can they be in the same conduit with the power conductors feeding power to the transfer switch. My inspector says I cannot install in the same conduit per 725.136. On the generators that come with a pigtail installed on the generator at the factory all of the wires are in the same conduit. If we need to extend them our inspector is requiring two conduits leaving the the j box.
