I own 1/2, 3/4, and 1" hickeys, only used them a few times, they came in handy on a job to follow the radius on a grain silo job once...
mdshunk said:I actually did a rack of 3/4" EMT with concentric bends some years back using the hickey just to see if I could. It actually turned out pretty decent looking, but the largest bend ended up taking maybe 4 feet of the stick. I started with 10 tick marks maybe an 3/4ths of an inch apart and end up with 10 tick marks 4 or 5 inches apart. There's not really any good reason to do concentric bends unless you just want to try it sometime for your own entertainment. I sure wouldn't call it "fun".
No, but I'll remember where it was one day and take a picture. I have a picture in my head of the installation, but I don't have a good memory of exactly where it was. It'll pop in my head sometime when I'm thinking about something totally different. Hopefully, it'll be as decent as I remember. It's kinda weird looking at some of your own old work. You think to yourself, "who did that", with a wrinkled nose until you remember it was you.peter d said:Concentric bending is a lost art. Got any pictures of that installation?
