I am looking for aa repacement for a "Minerallac MC-0" ceiling conduit clamp. Apperently they no longer make them and my inquiry with them netted me a "they're obsolete" reply and a nice, shiny new catalog with nothing compatible in it. Hoping someone knows what I'm referring to and has a recommendation for a replacement.

I'm not familiar with the term either...so guessing at it:
MC = Mineralic Clamp...aka Cowboy
"0" = size 0...with 0 being the equivelant of 1/2"

A picture would be extremely helpful.

The hanger Celtic has is part of this. It is riveted to a heavy plate which is in the shape of a "J". It was designed to be driven, usually with a hammer, onto the strips of metal encountered on a industrial ceiling, between the fiberglass panels under a rubber or asphalt roof. These are probably 20 years old. I couldn't figure out how to get the jpeg from my digital camera into this message arae?????

Two ways: Join a photo hosting site such as www.photobucket.com and load the full size images onto that site, and link to them from here; or decrease the file size of the images down to 146KB or less and use the "attachments" part of the screen that appears when you type a reply to a thread on this site. You can upload small images directly to this site as an attachment.

This FAQ link from the top of this page can help to actually do the cool things like make the image appear in your message.

I don't think you could bend either one of the clamps above without it no longer being a clamp. I believe the one Minuteman posted cand be turned, but not bent~spring steel....

This is the classic version of what is refered to as a "mineralac" 'round here at least.

(I'm sure they are still made)
In the same sort of way that all in-ground junction and pull boxes are called "Christy boxes" after one of the manufacturers. Since Caddy pretty much has most of the dropped cieling stuff down, likewise there are "MC Caddy's" (KX), and 1/2" or 3/4"... "Pipe Caddy's" (K8's, and K12's etc.) And crimped ground connectors would be Buchanons... Like they made nothing else....

Anyway, a new version that I got to play with a while back while waiting for my order at a counter. Kinda neat.... http://www.erico.com/products/CaddyCFCWC812.asp
