Would you labor conduit within CMU block wall differently that say conduit surface mounted or even recessed? I know you have ot install it in sections/stages as the bricky lays his rows so there is more comeback time. I believe.

You will have a lot more couplings as the masonry guys don't want to have to lift up over conduit stubs. We would typically cut 40" lengths and with the box at the bottom of a course that would give you a few inches above the block to connect the next length of conduit.
Most of the time you have to have an electrician with them, so the labor is a lot higher. Your guys set the boxes and then add the conduit sections.

It also depends on the brickies. We would layout out the boxes on the floor and provide him with a pile of pre-fab boxes with 36" straight stubs, a coupling on the end, and another pile of 36" nipples. He would set the boxes according to the mark indicated on the floor and when the courses got up to the coupling he would install the 36" nipple and continue so we were never holding them up. We would have a guy randomly following the brickies around to ensure that everything was correct. For the top nipple which had an elbow we would have a guy work with them to cut it to length and ensure that the elbow was facing the proper direction.
