If two 4-Conductor #12 cables (UL-1309 Shipboard, Marine Use) are passed through a 2" metal conduit rather than securing it to a cable tray, does the rigid conduit absolutely have to be fitted with a plastic bushing? This is on a portable 21k gallon diesel tank that is moved by truck from location to location.
The manufacturer says NO because the cables are double insulated and it's no different than securing it to a metal cabletray. I have required that they grind all of the inside of conduit to eliminate any sharp edges. Will this fly or get hit for code violation
Thanks
