conduit run over septic tank?

Customer is trenching approximately 200 to 300 feet between main panel and where electric well sub-panel will be installed. Apparently the septic tank is between the two locations, and customer feels over the top is easier than just upstream of the septic tank. I would much rather him go upstream of the tank and hand dig under the sewer. That way 100% of the conduit will have 18" of cover, and I won't be forced to have a small run of rigid where it passes over the tank. The sub-panel will be small, but I hate to size the conduit to be just large enough. I don't have a hydraulic bender, so I'm very limited in what size rigid I could use. Yeah, I could always buy a 1 1/4" EMT / 1" rigid bender, but I'm light, and wouldn't want to bend the 1" rigid. Plus, I feel that 1" is just too small.

Is there a code preventing the installation of conduit over a septic tank? Perhaps a building code?

How deep will the conduit be if it passes over the septic tank?

I would try to use PVC.

luke warmwater- Less than 18"

petersonra - I have a general rule to try and avoid UF if at all possible. Besides, the fact that I wouldn't be able to maintain a minimum of 18" pretty much rules out UF.

I overlooked the obvious on my last underground, so that's why I'm speaking up: there's no way to run along the side of the house, or through the basement to clear the septic? I'd hate to hit that septic line with a trencher trying to graze over it! :D

I couldn't find anything about your situation, but I'll tell you what. Imagine you're a sewer contractor and you had to replace that line and that does happen, and you found a piece of conduit over the top of it. Also consider installing some marker tape with your conduit.
