In a vertical conduit run, where the conduit needs to turn 90 degrees through a concrete wall into a Class1 Div 2 atmosphere, is it practicle to install a vertical seal fitting directly below an explosion proof LB to keep the conduit run as close to the wall as possible? A horizontal seal would leave the conduit about 6" away from the wall due to the size of the body, in this case we are running 1 1/4" conduit.

Is it not possible to put the seal horizontally on the other side of the wall?

The seal can be within 10' either side of the boundary.

Yes it can, but the boundary may end lower than the penetration of the wall. Without knowing the boundary, we can't answer correctly.
