Looking for section of the code ---?????

To verify that using pvc straps to support emt is a code violation. Thanks!

As Bob posted, you may find some fittings listed for one another.
 
Thanks. Is it a violation to use steel straps on pvc because it does not allow for movement of pipe?

IMO those sections do not apply to supports, ..... or strut clips are in violation.:smile: Of course the AHJ still has to approve them.

See 352.30. ...and shall be fastened so that movement from thermal expansion or contraction is permitted.

I believe using PVC straps on EMT is going to allow for expansion and contraction, the other way round may be a problem.

Panel 8 says that support straps are not fittings.

Substantiation: The Article 100 definition of ?fitting? seems to include
raceway supports. Many of the commonly used raceway support straps,
clamps, and other items are not listed.

Panel Statement: Conduit support accessories are not considered ?Fittings?.
Sections 300.6 and 300.6(A) require support hardware to be constructed of
materials suitable for the environment for which they are to be installed.
