Connect 100A sub-panel to 200A Main panel

I've installed a Sq D 200A, 30 space main panel a few years ago.
I would like to connect a sub-panel next to the 200A panel.

I love the tap rules, but it is probably just easier to install a 100 amp breaker.

It's real nice to be able to just reach over and cut power to that sub panel when adding circuits and still have power to the main panel.

The cost of a 100 amp breaker is not that much and it's very convenient.

Thanks Much to all of you here for sharing your knowledge!
I appreciate the purpose of the NEC, but without the experience
of all the generous folks at this site, I would be lost.

Wish you all the best!
