I have look but I think there is ground buss inside the MTS. I don't think the neutral is on that buss. Its been awhile since I looked inside.

You should/need a EGC bonded to the MTS from the MDP. From there you can run your EGC to the gen set.

Is #6 rated for 75a according to your breakers terminal rating? I have a similar job I am looking at w/ a 15kw Cummins /onan setup except with an 80amp breaker on the genset

The breaker is at 75 amps because 125% over FLA for motor starts. The genset can run up to 12k for start ups. It has a continuous duty rate of 80%. If you would like more info here is the link..http://www.emergencypower.com/standby-generators/12-kw-diesel-generator/

I am getting more of a clear picture now what needs to be done. I'll look inside the MTS and MDP today and see whats there. Thank you

Thank you for your input. We always put the 3 phase genset feeders in a separate conduit. If they were doubles comming off the breaker then we would use 2 conduits to avoid inductive problems. So I assume this is the same issue for single phase running in a common conduit? I will take your advise and put in another conduit. Thank you.

FYI only, article 702.9 allows the generator feeder to occupy the same raceway as other general wiring. But if not on a budget, a seperate raceway never hurts.
