Connecting a Delta to Wye System via a Tie Breaker

I have a 480Volt ungrounded delta system fed from "Sub #1" and would like to tie it to a 277/480Volt wye system fed from "Sub #2" via a tie breaker.

Is this possible? The tie breaker would involve 3-wire and a equipment grounding conductor only.

Do you want to "parallel" the wye and delta systems via a tie breaker?
Or, do you want to "move" a circuit from a delta to a wye system via the tie?
 
I'm just learning how to use this forum. Please forgive me!

I'm looking to parallel the systems. I have 7 substations all with tie breakers. This allows me to take a transformer down if necessary and keep the plant "limping" until I can have a orderly shutdown.

I do not look to operate the tie unless there is a emergency.

You cannot easily parallel delta and wye transformers.

There is a 30 degree phase shift between delta and wye conversions so in effect your systems are not synchronized.
 
If this is something you really need to do from a critcal operation standpoint, then you can buy 480-480 (1:1) delta to wye transformer, connect it to the delta system feed to the Sub, and get your phases matched up.
