Or are you saying the same would be applicable, eg. you would need to install a GFCI receptacle/protector for a replacement fixture if no ground wire or means of grounding exist nearby? I mean I don't recall ever seeing a fixture with intergal GFCI.

Put it on a GFCI circuit breaker, or properly power it off of a GFCI receptacle.

Is an equipment grounding jumper required when installing a light fixture to a metal box that properly bonded.
