Connection of Standby generator via Cam-Lok

Subject: Connecting a towable standby generator via single conductor Crouse Hinds Cam-Lok (TM)

I am an electrical Contractor in Canada and need to install

a towable generator:

Power unit: 120 kVA 3phase, Voltage 120/208 or 480/277.

Configured as Zigzag winding output 74 kVA at 230 Volt single phase.

The 600A manual transfer switch does not switch the Neutral, only the two single phase conductors.

Here is my concern:

We want to use single conductor type Cam-Lok (TM) connectors.

But this implies : " switching " the bond wire and the neutral

as the connections to the Neutral and Bonding wires of the generator can be manually disconnected.

Would it be sufficient to use the wiring method for a separately derived system?

Cam locks are used all the time for non SDS temp generator hook ups.

The only way you are going to get an SDS is to remove the bond at your building and switch the neutral no matter what's going on inside the generator.

For designers and installers for generator tap equipment, the 2017 Code requires an interlocked disconnect for 100-amp or greater in section 702.12(C)
