I have a 24VDC 40A power supply with a 40A load side mini breaker feeding other mini breakers.

My initial thought was to daisy chain the breakers with 8awg wire but after some investigation, I realized that the breakers are only rated for (2) 10awg wires.

My question is, am I able to split up the load as shown in the attached example?

I was told I could but I have doubts as I always thought the breaker size cannot exceed the ampacity of the wire.

Thanks in advance.

Well, if any code rules apply, I'd say it would be tap rules.

I'd be concerned with the three 10a breakers on the left branch, but you're within the wire ampacity.
