Does 110.26 working clearances apply to Control Panels, specifically a Gas Detection Panel? Being asked by an owner to apply the proper working clearances with marking tape on the floor in front of Electrical Equipment (i.e. disconnect switches and panelboards) but I am wondering of this applies to things like a Gas Detection Panel as mentioned?
 
110.26 tells us what it applies to. The key will the equipment be worked on while energized
And the voltage inside. If it’s all 150V or less you can use the minimum 3ft. but if there is NO electricity in the box then I don’t think it matters. People often assume that because the voltage on instruments is low, the clearance doesn’t matter. But the basic rule is 0-150V and 24VDC is greater than zero last I checked…
