Control Panels in C2D2 Environments

I need some guidance for installation of control panels in a Class II Div 2 area.

As far as I can tell UL508a, UL698a, and UL1203 do not explicitly state they are for use in C2D2 environments. I'm unsure which standard should apply.

Can I just mount a normal UL508a panel in this area? Or do I need to follow UL698a with intrinsic extensions to the C2D2 area? Is there another standard that applies in this situation that I am not aware of?

I get that the enclosure will need to be NEMA Type 12 but that is all that I have solidly found within UL or NEC.

You have to comply with the requirements found in Article 501 of the NEC. What exactly is in the control panel? Any arc producing contacts will require the use of an NEMA 7 enclosure.

Think about it. All you really have to do is keep dust from getting inside the box and a dust tight enclosure fills the bill.
