If u have fan that is 208V, 1 phase, 1HP ECM motor, and you want to have control switch for on and off.

How is this control switch wire installed?

Are you trying to use it independently of it's associated equipment?
I’m not sure if I understand your question.

The fan/motor will be 2nd floor and the shop is 1st floor. My customer wants to have some kind of switch type to operate on/off

Two conductors down to the switch then back up to the motor? You could get fancier and use a contactor at the motor, 24V coil, small 24V transformer and two conductor low voltage wire down to a single pole switch.

I see. Yes The motor comes with transformer. It has 24V output to feed PWM controller. So I can use the 24V to feed the switch

Unless the controller and it's disconnect are in sight from the motor or the motor is cord and plug,, 430.102(B) requires a disconnect in sight from the motor.
The disconnect would be required to open the power circuit so a 2 pole switch as listed in 430.109(C)
If the "in sight from motor" is covered and you are wanting to control it from the 1st floor it sounds as if you could you a switch on the 24v circuit.
