tom baker First Chief Moderator & NEC Expert Staff member Location Bremerton, Washington Occupation Master Electrician Mar 17, 2008 #5 The best book I have found is by American Technical Publishers on Electrical Motor Controls http://www.go2atp.com/stores/1/Electrical_Motor_Controls_for__P261C23.cfm This books is excellent and starts with how to document motor controls, troubleshoot etc, very little on the NEC, which has some rules on motor control. Mike Holt has material on motor controls but it was old and out of date, he has been working on updating it but don't know status.
