I saw I bunch of these in Chicago. New to me, but looks like a real time saver. Anyone install one of these?

I'm trying to igure out what's with the white wires running halfway down the pole in conduit, then swinging back up to the weatherhead. :-?

Shouldn't there be a disconnecting means somewhere accessable to the fire department in case they need to turn off power to the building?

Would be neat if that weather head is rated for use in a electrical service. For a paralled run would look slick compared to multiple weather heads.

Isn't this all communications stuff? Look how low everything is and how high the triplex is on the pole.

No sir, this is a service. As I said, I saw a bunch of these all over the north side. Larry spotted the 'service drop' dropping down the pole then going back up to the connection point. FWIW, POCO has a pile of work in progress there.

That is not an NEC requirement.
Miami-Dade County did not require an outside disconnect and the next county up, Broward County did. We used to call it a Broward box when we saw one.
