When to a condo built in the 70's has copper clad al. I used some of these and spliced solid copped tails for the devices.. Is copper clad to be treated as Al. or copper when it comes to such things as devices and connectors?

I've pulled some copper clad aluminum in the past but I have never seen copper clad aluminum in romex gauges.
mostly 1/0 and up is what we used.
So I don't know what to tell you.

From what I had heard CU-clad AL was terminated as a copper conductor & sized as a aluminum conductor. Rare breed of item.

am in the process of doing some panels in a condo setup that are all wired with cu/al . the conductor sizes do not seem to be 12 for a 15 amp and 10 for a 20 amp but a tad bit smaller in diameter. larger but not quite 10 and 12. havent put a mic on it but all seems well and nice to work with if you are care ful not to nick the wire at devices. If you nick the wire it breaks off at the device. I am treating eveything as copper to copper which is what it is. nice soft stuff

Thats it. Terminated the same as CU but the ampacity of AL.
1) Not terminated on lugs marked CU only, nor with CU wire NEC 110.14.
2) Not as GEC in direct contact with masonry or within 18" of earth, NEC 250.64(A), 250.120(B).
3) Not for use in MOBILE HOMES, MANUFACTURED HOMES, AND MOBILE HOME PARKS, NEC 550.15
