Cord application for a dishwasher

No these are heavy gauge appliance cords not ACE hardware 50 cent with a coupon cords.

I don't see the issue.

Most of the range, dryer, window AC etc all use flat cords.

I do not like flat extension cords either but these are not extension cords.

Of course it does not matter because while we can wire an entire building UL does not feel we can figure out how to make a cord for a DW.:roll: :mad:

Maybe the ruling isn't for us....maybe it's for the "general public" - to perhaps somehow hinder them from DIY creations ?
Unfortunately, we get caught up in the mix.
 
If this cord requirement is going to be enforced by the local inspectors, IMO the dishwasher manufacturers should supply them , in the box, when one is delivered. You can use it or hardwire it and dispose of the cord. Then there would be no need to run around town to try to find the "manufacturer's cord" for your install. Either that or come up with a generic dishwasher cord, similar to what is found for ranges nd dryers.:roll:
