I have an air compressor for a dry fire suppression system. My CB is only 3' away. So I have my service disconnect. Can I have this compressor cord and plug connected?

Is the compressor Identified and intended for cord and plug connection? Take a look at 400.7(8). You may also fall under 400.7(6)

Hotshot, I don't think this is a NEC regulation, it would probably fall under your local fire dept. regs. For all practical purposes I would hard wire this compressor to much liability to cord, plug this very important piece of the fire suppression system. IMHO. Wait a little while for sure someone on this forum will be able to quote code article that your looking for from the fire codes.
