apprentice is in the state apprenticeship program. He gets paid hourly with benefits too. Actually he just got his JM license literally last week and we just got a 2nd truck on the road so we are going to split up and possibly hire 2 more apprentices - at least one anyway so our rates are going to change with a service call fee - probably the first hour will be more. I am hesitant to go the flat rate way right now.
I think it will go to 150/hr to show up and that includes the first hour for 1 lic and 1 apprentice and $100 for one licensed guy for the 1st hour and $75 each additional hour.

The problem we have right now is not having enough work for 2 more guys
I like having an apprentice with the licensed guy all the time - some things just need 2 people and you don't know what is may be for until you are there. There are plenty of jobs that I give flat prices for - not everything is billed hourly.

Jay, I've been in that building. Pain in the rear! What's worse is that those condos are practically wallpapered in money. Cheap bastards.

Yeah...I need to remember to email [my referral] and make sure he doesn't hold that one against me. Something along the lines of, "I hope you didn't give her the impression I'd give her as good of a price as I give you. You're a good customer and I like working for you, so I give you a bit of a break."

He's the one that had the nightclub in his basement in Needham.
