Think about it...
AFCI's on all the circuits... prolly gonna start having less circuits..
According to 406.8(A)
All recepts in "damp" or "wet" locations have to be WR (Weather Resistant) type.
and then the beautiful 406.11 requiring all recepts to be TR (Tamper Resistant)
which makes the "damp" or "wet" locations in a house required to be both (Type WRTR).
I've seen P&S (http://www.passandseymour.com/literature/pdf/WeatherResistant_PB.pdf ) havin these available but have not seen the cost, wondering how much these 3 things alone will have on the impact on the cost of wiring a new house to code. (2008)
Guess the cost of safety can not really be measured.
