And guess who bought 1000's of breakers from Scott Electric during that time (they were on sale)? Guess who has no clue where they might have been installed? They let us know a few weeks ago, but the salesman told me they've known since May. Sheesh.

Would that be you?

The sad part is that the EC who bought them and installed them thought they were installing a quality product, but also bear the brunt of a lawsuit if disaster happens.Kind of like the Firestone/Ford tire situation awhile back.

We installed 1000`s of sd d homeline afci`s that wouldn`t trip at the breaker, many were corrected but I know that there are many that weren`t.For awhile calls would come for the afci not tripping. So a service crew was sent to replace them. That took a big bite out of the budget.Just glad warranty is just for a year.

When those Suare D , Arc fault breakers were recalled I contacted Schneider Electric the parent company. I wanted to find out about exhange. It turns out that they were willing to pay to have the bad breakers changed out. There was a cap of ( I think) $100 pr service call. They offered to pay $300.00 for the money that a homeowner had already spent to solve a problem if the breakers were of the correct manufacture date ( missed it by a month ).

The poor homeowner paid for two service calls. The first electrician wanted to replace some wiring. I tested the breakers and they were bad. Simple replacement.

I would contact Scott Electric and see if they are willing to foot the bill to change out said defective breakers or wait for the class action suit.
