crimp lugs mix use cu and al

I am trying to find out the truth about whether or not crimp on lugs like a single hole or double hole can be used for copper or aluminum. I am trying to find something that specificallystates they are rated for copper and aluminum.

That will be from the manufacturer of each lug in question.

Dual rated conductor lugs should be listed as Cu9Al or something similar. They're usually made of an alloy that resembles aluminum.

Why would some one not just always use dual rated crimps. Seems they are same price from we’re I get stuff. Is there a performance difference if you have a copper wire to copper crimp Vs a dual rated crimp.
Seems if it’s rated it should be fine

Copper only crimp lug bodies are usually copper, while dual rated are usually aluminum.
There are some people that think aluminum has no place anywhere in an electrical system.

Why would some one not just always use dual rated crimps.

Ones made of copper can be physically smaller than those made of aluminum for the same ampacity. If that's not important then dual rated crimps can reduce how many you'd need to have.
I don't have any data, but I'd expect copper crimps on copper wire would be better in an environment that's conducive to corrosion.

I was assuming the environment aspect but I assume to much as is lol
