Critical Branch Raceway Question

We are currently working at a hospital in NJ and an interesting question came up. They are in the process of installing new telemetry equipment throughout the hospital and the head end equipment will be located in their main data server room. As per the NEC, this equipment needs to be fed from the Critical Branch side of the generator. Since the UPS feeding this equipment is served from the Critical Branch, can the telemetry rack be served with a flexible whip under the raised floor or does it need to be hard piped in EMT?

Any thoughts would be appreciated...

Thanks!

Tom

Greg, the area in question is not a Patient Care Area so 517.13(B) is not applicable, the question has to do with meeting the requirements of 517.30(C).

Tom, per the actual wording it would have to be hard piped unless you can justify using 517.30(C)(3)d.
