Pointing the boat slightly in the direction from which the current is flowing, so that the boat travels in a straight line across the river. Also known as "crabbing."

Or, you could do a Google search. I tried, and discovered that it pertains to control of two or more generators that are operating in parallel.

It has to do with controlling the outputs of multiple parallel generators and how they interact with each other. Do you have multiple parallel generators you are looking to control? If not, this is an issue that is not only complex, but narrowly specific.
