Update. Mr. Inspector returned my call. Seems he is quite familiar with CSST as there WAS a house right down the street from this one, where 7KV primary was introduced to the neutral service entrance conductor.

Anyway, he said that I should do what was required by 250.93 and the listing/labeling (and tell the Plumber to pound sand). He then went on to tell me, that if I should do less than code minimum, then the monkey is on my back, which I already knew. However, should I do more than what is required by code, than I am saying that I feel there is a potential danger, and if my exceeding code still allowed lightning (or the introduction of primary voltage) to cause a fire and/or injury, then I am putting a larger monkey on my back.

For an inspector to tell someone to not go above and beyond code is aweful imo.
Google search csst and you will find that the danger is proven.
