Wow, that's interesting. I just got my Ward Manufacturing
Training Certificate for WardFlex CSST, and the instructor
here in CA said just bond to the nut. The NY reqt
for fixed pipe is not that unreasonable IMO, so I will
ask the local AHJ what's required here. Thanks for noting
this.

In NYS, many of us felt that it was not a good idea to connect a compression-type clamp to a compression-type gas fitting out of concern of altering the dimension of the gas fitting by over-tightening a compression-type saddle clamp, for example. We were able to prevail and now feel we have a better method. :smile:

The Codes Council will vote on this draft text at their June, 2008 meeting in Albany, NY. The text is enforceable presently since the manufacturer's have amended their installation instructions. All six manufacturers that were a part of the class action suit have done so.(amended their installation instructions)....three that come readily to mind are: Gas-Tite, Ward-Flex and Omega Flex. :smile:
