Cutler Hammer recall?

Hello, all:
We have an apartment complex with 3, 4, & 5 gang Cutler Hammer breaker/meter combos. The model #s are 1mm512R, 412R, & 312R. Our electrical company has had to replace 4 of these main subs, due to arcing on the buss bar, and no available parts. That seems very excessive for a 9 year old property.

Does anyone know of a recall for these meter banks?

It seems as if the bolted together parts are loose? The bussbar is usually constructed in bolted together pieces.

I would save all parts and have a Cutler Hammer rep. come look at it. They would be the ones to tell you if there was a problem.

Don't count on them admitting the panel was defective. That will cost them money but if there was a recall they will tell you.

I'll have our electricians save the box when the next bank goes down. They have stated they have replaced quite a few of these boxes over the last year or two.
