SQ D hands down. Get with your salesman and get on the rebate program and you will find they may just be cheaper than the rest. They don't offer, you have to ask and threaten to go elseware. Your cutting into his commission. Works every time.

I don't like homeline and think Square D is hurting their reputation by selling it.

I've used CH but never thought it was all that special, I like it better now that they moved the neutral/ground bars.

It's been a while since I've used any Murray, seemed like a cheaper Siemens at the time, but I don't remember any problems.

Bryant was horrible, I used a lot of their residential panels and breakers because that's what my supplier sold, now I wished I'd just give him $5 per job to leave it on the shelf. Now Bryant is BR?

Square D has been selling Homeline for almost 20years. I think if it was hurting them, they would have stopped by now. Homeline was intended to compete in the 1" wide breaker market. For all intents the 'guts' of the breaker are the same as their QO.

mostly homeline for resi service and NQ's on commercial construction.

i think siemens is my least favorite; their 1" stab-on line is pure junk, and i don't much care for the design of their switchboards.

What is it that people love about QO? As far as I can tell they are over-priced have less room in the panel and that neutral bar design is horrible.

It's this impression of quality that is not backed up with any facts.

I use ITE, but really don't care. I guess my favorite brand is the one that makes me the most money.

The resi stuff that GE makes is garbage.

I have to agree I have seen many failures of GE breakers . especially the mains from 100 to 125 amp which can permanently damage the panel and need replacement my panel is a 25 year old GE panel which i check regularly for any problems and upkeep. My neighbors GE panel failed and almost caused a fire . they replaced with homline i have seen very few problems with this product .

if you had to choose only one brand to use (residential and light commercial) which of the three would you select?

A few years ago that was a no brainer, CH Classic was the best all over, then someone got a bright idea to change the bus in the panel, and ever since that change, breakers fall out and loose fit in panel, now we consider it's just another junk product, this is after over 30 years of use.

Cutler hammer all the way. Every bit as good as quality as a QO.

I disagree here. While the trip-time curves are similar to both brands, I invite you to take this challenge:

Start with a panel full of breakers, some of them on, and others off. Now trip one out. I dare you to find the tripped breaker in the CH panel without knowing which breaker it was beforehand.

Do the same thing with a QO panel. No problem locating the tripped breaker in a matter of seconds. Even the Homeline breakers go ?-way when tripped.
