daisy-chain 2x4 lay-ins

240.5(B)(2) permits the use of #18 fixture wire in lengths up to 50' to be protected by a 20A OCPD. If the total wire length of the conductors in the whips is 50' or less, the code would permit daisy chaining.

So in theory I could run 8 fixtures@ 1.5 amps each, using 6 ft x 18 ga whips?? That would put 12 amps on the first whip? I'm just asking I really don't know....

I think I've seen daisy chains with 18 ga whips totaling more than 50 ft..

No, you can't exceed the ampacity of the conductor...you are just permitted to protect it at above its ampacity.

Why are the 1896 & 1902 books nicely bound thick books but the 1897 & 1911 books so thin? That 96 book was terrible Ikept loosing pages because the binding kept splitting, Shoulda bought the looseleaf that year.
