Hello all,

My question is: Does article 440.14 in the NEC apply to AC units such as a Liebert (CRAC or CRAH) type units? these units are typicly used on raised floor data center rooms. the article states that "disconnecting means shall be located within sight" from the unit.

Yes, a CRAC Unit would require a Disconnect per 440.14.
If it is located in a room that complies with 645.4 it would also have to comply with 645.10.
Most CRAC Units can be purchased with an integral disconnect switch that would satisfy 440.14, or you can provide a separate one.
The CRAC Unit controls usually have built-in provisions for EPO Shutdown.
There are numerous ways to comply with 645.10.
