DC Cables

Does anybody see a problem with DC cables being bunched up and tied back rather than being cut to proper length and terminated. I can't think of any violation to make my crew change this. Looking like hammered dog crap isn't a good enough reason to have them remob. to the site. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: DC Cables

Sorry about the lack of details Peter. I was in a bit of a hurry.

They are wires that are run in a ladder rack from a DC plant to some wireless equipment. They are #2 copper wires rated for CT use.

What happened was a power plant swap out. Rather than cutting the load cables to a shorter length and reterminating the lugs on the shortened wires they just bent the wires back over other wires and tied the wires together to make a wad of wires.

Re: DC Cables

Crappy workmanship, yes. Code violation, I don't think so.

It sounds like the major issue is the lack of pride that your crew has in their work. :(
