I have a question regarding secondary DC distribution on -48vDC plants.
When the connection type on the distribution is a mechanical compression set screw, is their a code/spec that requires the use of a pin lug? The thread of the screw does not come in contact with the conductor of the cable, but rather its compressed between two metal surfaces --(0).

Is this a home project, or is it somehow related to your employment? We are not permitted to assist a person who is not related to the electrical industry, if that person intends to do any kind of electrical work on their own.

That conductor is typically a fine strand conductor, so you have to use a connector that is suitable for fine stand conductors. There are mechanical conductors that are suitable for the purpose.
