I have a question regarding secondary DC distribution on -48vDC plants.
When the connection type on the distribution is a mechanical compression set screw, is their a code/spec that requires the use of a pin lug? The thread of the screw does not come in contact with the conductor of the cable, but rather its compressed between two metal surfaces --(0).

That conductor is typically a fine strand conductor, so you have to use a connector that is suitable for fine stand conductors. There are mechanical conductors that are suitable for the purpose.

In the overkill department, I know someone that has some of his home computers on 48v power, but that's 6-8 servers in a rack. (The guy is a radio broadcast engineer of the old school.)
