DC Motor adjustable speed drive

The lowest speed DC motor I dealt with was 60-180 rpm. It was in a steel mill in Bilbao and driving the first section of the rolling mill. It was huge and weighed over 100 tonnes. And that's an intermittent duty too.

I am doing one now for a mine elevator
133 HP, 56 rpm, 60" drum
8000 lb capacity at 900 fpm

drive controller is a Parker-Hannifin 590 series (iirc made in the UK?)
controller: armature is rated 600 VDC at 380 A
motor: 395 VDC at 284 A

How big is the motor and what did it cost?

it's the associated elevator equipment
it's all certified
like a $20 ladder that costs $200
when all said and done about the same as a 3 ph induction set-up with gearbox

That would astonish me. Just based on my limited experience of course.
