As I said, hotter Arc because current is constant.:)

Same wattage will be 10 times current at 12 volts than it will be at 120 volts also.

The DC arc is extinguished when the gap between contacts is far enough to no longer sustain the arc. The AC arc is extinguished when the zero crossover happens, which can easily be a much smaller contact gap at the time of zero crossover, and it will not restrike as long as contact remains open or voltage does not increase enough to jump the gap for some reason.

Kind of what has been said just in a little different way.
