Yes.

Maybe it changes the nitty gritty of some code requirements (technically that's not a source circuit anymore), but you can still do it.

The NEC does not require it of PV source circuits but your AHJ might. But 690.15(C) says that if you combine strings on a roof you must have a disco up there.
