I was having a discussion about using 30A circuit breakers for metal halide parking lot lighting. Does anyone know a formal definition for "heavy duty lampholder", or is just understood that it's a mogul base, etc..

A heavy duty lampholder is one that is porcelain and is rated for or above the wattage which it is intended for. Not necessary the mogul base, but the rating of the socket itself.( temperature and voltage). It is most likely to be of a more heavy porcelain with some kind of insulator behind it to protect the wiring from cooking.
