Re: Delta high leg services

I seem to remember Jerry is from Illinois from when he was here before. I don't know about the whole state, but I do know Chicago has some peculiar local codes as compared to other states.

Dschomer, as I said to Jerry, I'm not here to take sides but, you are an engineer and I would think you would know the ropes, so, why is Jerry mentioning not having a set of stamped drawings?

Re: Delta high leg services

Roger,
That's the rub. I'm an electrician who has worked in the trade for 30 years and built innummerable services. For the past five years I have worked in a large architectural firm as an electrical designer. Large jobs (like our local casino-4000-amps at 480v) are reviewed by our engineering consultant who supervises and directs the design and performs all the calculations. I do all the layout work. For smaller jobs (like strip malls, build-outs, and the like) I use spreadsheet programs to size everything and the architect's stamp is the umbrella for the whole project. Our City ordinarily has a very thourough review process, but it can be very subjective and, as in this case, there is no attempt to care about the financial hardships their actions cause.
