delta-wye primary

I need to set the input voltage on an old GE 3 ph. isolation xformer. However, I have never seen a primary configured as a delta-wye primary (460 x 230) with a 460vac delta 266vac wye secondary. It is wired for 240 vac on the primary and I need 460 vac. I am unsure how to rewire the primary to get the 460 vac secondary with the 460 vac primary. There are no instruction on the tag and none in existing drawings for this machine. It is wired with an ungrounded wye circuit inside of a delta circuit currently.

I do not understand your question. Can you draw a diagram of this delta-wye primary? Or describe the circuit. By implication you probably have at a minimum 6 coils in the primary. Also show the phasing of these coils to whatever secondary coils exist.

.

Sounds like you have a dual-voltage delta primary, single voltage wye secondary.

A diagram as gar pointed out would help tremendously. Short of that, does the transformer have any terminal markings, and if so, what are they?

Typically, you'll have two windings per phase on the primary. For hi volts in, connect same-phase windings in series. For lo volts in, connect same-phase windings in parallel.

Are you passing encoded messages within your posts? :) vB puts the date and time on the posts in the headers...
He could tell you but he would have to kill you.:D

Not encoded other than a monotonic function of time and date. The post header information is incomplete and in the case of Practical Machinst is off by about 3 hours and ten minutes. But Practical Machinist does not like my date time encoding so I make them happy and do not include it. Is that what you would like?

If I do an Internet search it is very convenient to have this information in the body of the post. The header information I do not believe is indexed by Google and others.

This is useful information to uniquely identify a post when you want to reference it.

Inter-related is that many poster's put their question or subject of the post in the title and never repeat it at the top of the post. Thus, there can be lack of continuity if you quote a post.

Also there is the very big problem of lack of clarity and/or information in asking questions.

What does DNC mean? Direct Numerical Control (drip feed) or Distributed Numerical Control (primarily means communication). I only use it in the first sense. I would rather use the term communication for the second sense, and then provide additional qualification as required. Even Drip Feed needs qualification. I usually use the term Drip Feed because it is less ambiguous.

What does Today from the header mean 5 days from now?

I guess you're talking about another site. This site's clock is off too- I asked them to fix it once and they did, but it has a significant drift. There are lots of server applications (including one built into windows server) to keep the time/date accurate with national time servers, but apparently they aren't interested in that here.

Do as you please. I just think it's redundant. I'd do it in something like UTC if I were concerned about the accuracy of the time of a post. "local time" is so relative.

huh? I musta missed something. Maybe I've had too much to drink already. ;)

Tomorrow all the posts with "today" will say "yesterday" and the day after that they will have real dates. It's smart that way. Good system. It also stores all the times internally in the database in UTC, and adjusts them according to the reader's location, if the reader's proper time zone information has been stored.
