Derating

The term derating was an old term used in the code. It was later replaced with adjust and correct of conductors. While reading the 2020 and 2023 nec handbook I see they are using the term derating again. Why the change
 
The handbook has explanatory material that is written by the authors. They are free to use whatever language they chose because that material is not part of the NEC.
